On Sunday, I photographed Molli, who just turned 13 last week. Molli, whose mom Niki is my Studio’s Creative Director accompanied us on our trip to downtown Dayton. We used a combination of Studio strobes, a beauty dish, available light and various off camera lighting in high-sync and manual settings.
The one thing, I learned about photographing 13 year old girls, is that there is a fine line between “too much” and “just right” amount of exposure, reveal, and composition. After shooting lots of engagements, where you have to let the couples express themselves in a sensual way and HS senior girls, who want to be captured in a feminine way, I had to often double check my setup and run it past Niki. Here are my tastefully done favorites.
