Darcy + Luke // Married

Cincinnati Wedding Photographers at Downtown Indianapolis

On Friday, I photographed the wedding of Darcy and Luke on a cold and blustery Friday afternoon in Indianapolis.

…but did have a contemplative moment away from all the preparations…

in a quaint Zion Lutheran Church.

Darcy was assisted by her seven bridesmaids…

…and six groomsmen.

Incidentally, Luke’s brother Thomas Finchum is a 2008 Beijing Olympics USA Diving team member and a 2007 USA Diving Athlete of the Year. Here is Luke with Darcy.

I am always looking for a way to tell the wedding day story by photographing the captivating subjects. Before the wedding, I notices these girls in the stairway, making small talk as I peeked around the corner, they started whispering and laughing. It is a moment of reality that is impossible to stage.

The church was full of warmth and filled with guests…

…as Darcy and Luke shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

After the formal pictures, we went to Downtown Indianapolis for a quick tour of the famous Indianapolis landmark, Indiana’s Solders and Sailors Monument.

On the limo ride back to the reception, Darcy and Luke were certainly enthused about the day.

After the first dance…

…the reception continued to be a very entertaining event. It seemed that most of the guests were on the dance floor. However, despite this, Darcy and Luke seemed to stand out more than anyone else.

As a friend to the bride’s parents, I was pleased to see the wonderful pictures were shared online.
This picture of their dance and the little girls giggling on the stairs are my favorites! This shot stands out as I have never seen the view of the dance in this way and having Darcy and Luke stand out in the crowd was an awesome effect!!!!
Congratulations to the couple and thanks for the wondeful pictures!!!

These are great pics! I like the use of motion blur and the separation of BW and making the couple color. I try not to overdo the effects too much but I may try a couple of these. I really like the wide angles… gotta get me one of them lenses…
